We teach wrestling, but our purpose reaches far beyond wins, losses, medals, and championships. Every practice gives an athlete the opportunity to become more disciplined. Every difficult opponent requires courage. Every setback teaches resilience and humility. Every success creates an opportunity to practice gratitude. These lessons do not remain in the wrestling room. Athletes carry them into school, relationships, future careers, families, and communities. Broad Axe brings together national champions and first-year wrestlers, elementary students and high school seniors, boys and girls. They may have different goals and different levels of experience, but everyone has something to learn and something to contribute. Experienced wrestlers are expected to raise the level of the room without looking down on those who are still learning. New wrestlers are expected to be brave enough to struggle, listen, and keep returning. Everyone trains. Everyone learns. Everyone helps make the room better. One day the wrestling shoes come off. The medals are packed away and the records are forgotten. What remains is the discipline, confidence, character, and relationships built along the way. Wrestling is what we teach. Better people are what we hope to build.
Programs
A closed eight-week cycle lets coaches build skills week by week—without repeatedly restarting the fundamentals. A consistent training group Skills that build each week Faster, more confident progress
The Broad Axe Intermediate Wrestling Program is where experienced young wrestlers begin connecting individual techniques into complete systems of offense, defense, and counter-wrestling. Athletes train at a faster pace, drill with greater intensity, wrestle significantly more live situations, and continue building the technical foundation they will need as they grow.
The Broad Axe Advanced Wrestling Program is a demanding, college-style training environment designed primarily for experienced middle school and high school wrestlers. The program combines detailed technical instruction, hard drilling, advanced wrestling systems, intense live wrestling, conditioning, and greater athlete ownership. Placement is based on age, maturity, training needs, pace, safety, and coach judgment—not tournament results or championship credentials.
Broad Axe Elite Training is an invitation-only Sunday program for members who consistently demonstrate that they want to improve—and support that goal through their attendance, effort, focus, coachability, and preparation. Led by Coach Jordan Wood and featuring accomplished guest clinicians throughout the year, Elite Training gives selected athletes access to advanced instruction, high-level partners, detailed technique, and a demanding practice environment.
