How verification works

Verified means checked, not claimed. Here's exactly what we check, for coaches and clubs — and what it means when you're a parent reading the badge.

For coaches & clubs

Verify your phone. So a real person can be reached if something goes wrong at an event.

Your club confirms you. A Verified club vouches for you — one of its admins confirms you coach there. If you manage a Verified club yourself, that's automatic. A club that isn't verified yet has to get verified first.

USAW membership. Your USAW number and a photo of the card, so we know you're a current member in good standing. The number is stored encrypted and only the last four digits are ever shown; the card photo is deleted as soon as a review is decided.

A person reviews it. Usually within a business day. Declines come with a reason and you can resubmit.

What it unlocks: free-agent search, the Verified badge families look for on your teams and messages, and roster import for your club. How it's lost: an admin can revoke it with a reason — an expired card, a club that withdraws its confirmation or loses its own verification, or a safety report that's upheld.

Clubs

The owner verifies their phone and gives us the club's website or social page; we check the club and its owner against it. That's the same whether you created the club here or claimed it from the directory. Verified clubs carry the badge in the directory and can confirm their coaches.

For parents

A Verified coach means Wrestling Agent confirmed their phone, their USAW membership card, and that a Verified club vouches for them. A Verified club means we confirmed its owner's phone and checked the club against its website or social page.

What it does not mean. It is not a background check, and we don't verify legal names. Verified means we confirmed how to reach them, their USAW membership, and who vouches for them — keep using your judgment and our in-app messaging, which keeps a record.

If a coach isn't verified you can still apply. Ask them to get verified — their club can confirm them in minutes, and the rest takes a day.
