Attempting to reconnect
For adults: your email, name, phone number if you provide one, the city and state you give us so coaches can search by distance, and — for coaches — the club and credential details used for verification. If you sign in with Google, we store the account identifier Google returns alongside your email; we don't store your Google photo. If you subscribe to a paid plan we store Stripe's customer and subscription identifiers. We don't store IP addresses or browser details in your account record; see Analytics below for what our analytics provider receives.
For athletes: only what a parent supplies. We never collect information directly from children, and minors cannot create accounts — this is how we comply with COPPA. One exception: a verified club coach may list a wrestler on their club roster by first name, last initial, grade and weight, together with a parent's email address, to invite that family; we delete the address if the family declines, and from acceptance on the parent owns the wrestler's profile.
What coaches can see about an athlete is deliberately minimal: first name and last initial, grade, weight, and wrestling styles, plus whatever optional details a parent chooses to add. We do not collect a wrestler's birthday, school, home address, or hometown at all — the fields don't exist.
A wrestler's full name and photo, where a parent has chosen to add them, live in a separately protected store and are visible only to the owning parent, to a coach with an actual engagement with that athlete — an accepted commitment or an application the coach approved — to a tournament director for an event the wrestler is committed to, and to Wrestling Agent admins. Search results and marketplace pages never include them.
A parent may also build a showcase for their wrestler — a nickname, season record, placements, highlight videos, photos, and a few fun facts. Showcases are written by the parent, stay private until the parent reviews and publishes them, and are shown only to verified coaches (section by section, as the parent chooses). Gallery photos unlock for a coach only after that coach has an engagement with the wrestler. We strip location and camera metadata from every photo uploaded to the site, and we reject contact details and full names in showcase text.
A parent can also turn on an unlisted public link for their wrestler's showcase. It shows only the sections the parent marked public, never the wrestler's last name, photos other than a profile photo the parent has explicitly consented to share, the wrestler's club, or location. The page is marked not to be indexed by search engines, and the parent can turn it off or replace the link at any time.
Events and club pages are public. Athlete profiles are not: searching free agents requires a verified coach account, and anonymous visitors never see athlete information except through a public showcase link a parent has deliberately turned on and shared. Ratings are shown only as averages; a club may feature a review's text on its page, but the reviewer is never named.
Messages stay inside Wrestling Agent and are retained as an audit trail that protects both parties, even if your account is later closed. Outgoing messages are automatically screened for payment-circumvention keywords; a flagged message is still delivered, and its text is shown to our safety team for review. If a conversation is reported, our safety team may read it to act on the report. Nobody else at Wrestling Agent reads private messages. You can block another user, which stops direct messages between you in both directions.
Spot payments and subscriptions are processed by Stripe, Inc. We never see or store card numbers or card details of any kind. We store the amount, status, and Stripe's identifiers for each payment, and we share the paying parent's email address with Stripe to process the charge. Clubs and coaches who receive payouts give their identity and bank details to Stripe directly under Stripe's privacy policy.
If you choose to verify your phone number, we send one verification code by SMS per request, to the number you enter — and only after you check the consent box on the verification page. We do not send marketing texts, and we never text a number that hasn't been entered by its owner on our site. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for help. Phone numbers are used for account verification only and are not shared with or sold to third parties for their marketing purposes.
We use PostHog, Inc. to understand how the site is used. It receives a pseudonymous account identifier (never your email, name, or phone), your role (parent, coach), the pages you visit, the actions you take (for example "created a wrestler profile"), and your browser and device type, and your IP address, from which it estimates your approximate location (city and region). It sets a first-party cookie so return visits are counted once. It never receives athlete names, photos, messages, or the contents of any form, and it does not record your screen. We honor the Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track browser signals: with either on, analytics is not started and nothing is collected.
Parents can edit an athlete profile, or hide it, at any time from their account. Hiding removes the profile from search, open spots, and every coach-facing surface, and turns off its public link. To delete an athlete profile or your whole account, email support@wrestlingagent.com from the address on the account and we will remove it; messages you sent are retained as described above.
We don't sell personal information, we don't run third-party advertising, and we don't share athlete data with anyone outside the access rules above.
