Weigh-ins
ZERO weight allowance and no day-of weigh-ins; wrestlers who miss weight move up to the next available weight class (32-wrestler maximum per class).
Format
Two sessions: Session 1 (9:00 AM) Boys Divisions 1, 3, 5 and Girls Divisions 2, 4; Session 2 (~1:00 PM) Boys Divisions 2, 4, 6 and Girls Divisions 1, 3. Three 1-minute periods, double elimination, 12-point technical fall, modified OHSAA rules with certified officials. No 7th/8th graders.
The 15th Annual Ohio Novice State Tournament is the OAC's statewide championship for beginning wrestlers: Ohio residents with three or fewer years of experience, no prior OAC state qualification, and no restricted state/national placements. Boys divisions B1 (6 & under) through B6 (11U/12U) and girls divisions G1 (6 & under) through G4 (12 & under) are age-based as of January 1. Entry is $55, rising to $70 on November 29, 2026; registration closes December 13, 2026 at midnight or when 1,200 paid wrestlers have entered.
