Weigh-ins
Qualifiers-only event: wrestlers advance from PJW area qualifiers (boys top 3, girls champion and runner-up). Friday March 19 is the arrival/weigh-in day; wrestling runs Saturday-Sunday March 20-21. Age group determined by age on December 31. Weigh in once; no weight allowance published.
Format
PJW state championship brackets by age group (8U, 9-10, 11-12) for boys and girls. Bouts 1-1-1 for 8U and 9-10 (11-12 wrestle 1:30-1-1), OT 1:00 sudden victory then :30 ride-out. PIAA rules as modified by PJW.
Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling's youth state championship, the culmination of the PJW area qualifier season for wrestlers age 12 and under. Only wrestlers who place at their PJW area tournament advance; entrants must be full-time Pennsylvania residents. 2027 edition is at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh (pajw.org lists March 19-21, the dedicated states site lists wrestling on March 20-21). Team hotel block at the DoubleTree Cranberry.
