Weigh-ins
In 2026: Friday-only weigh-ins 5:00-8:00 PM (no Saturday weigh-ins), make weight once with multiple attempts allowed; wrestlers who miss weight forfeit and may not move up. Mail-in or online entry ($40) had to be received by March 3; no call-ins or late entries. Expect Friday March 12, 2027 weigh-ins and an early-March deadline.
Format
Double elimination, NFHS rules, one weight class per wrestler, age as of Dec 31. Split start: 4U-10U 9 AM Saturday, 11-12 and 13-15 not before 4 PM Saturday; all groups resume with consolation semis Sunday 10 AM. Closed event: WV residents only, no high-school-enrolled wrestlers. Top 6 awarded; finalists get custom singlets. Tournament of Champions qualifier.
The 50th annual WV Junior State Wrestling Championships, the long-running open youth state tournament run by the Wood County Junior Wrestling League at Parkersburg High School (2101 Dudley Ave). No qualifying tournament required; any West Virginia resident wrestler age 4-15 not enrolled in high school may enter. Weekend passes $15 adult / $10 child.
