Weigh-ins
In 2026 all wrestlers weighed in Friday at the Coliseum (early weigh-in 12-3 PM for $20, regular 6-8 PM), in a singlet; expect the same Friday Feb 26, 2027 pattern. Youth and girls divisions: no weight allowance; middle school: 2 lb allowance. Wrestlers need at least a USA Wrestling limited folkstyle card; coaches need a leader card.
Format
Double elimination, scholastic rules with sudden-death OT. 4U-12U wrestle three 1-minute periods; middle school 1-2-2 (1-1-1 in consolations). Split start: 4U/6U/8U and all girls 9 AM, 10U/12U/middle school 2 PM. Awards 1st-8th. Girls state championship runs Sunday Feb 28.
The West Virginia Youth Wrestling Association's youth state championships, the end-of-season state tournament for WV youth clubs (wrestlers qualify through the four WVYWA regional tournaments on Feb 14, 2027). Boys 4U through middle school plus a girls state championship, at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center (200 Civic Center Dr). Adult admission in 2026 was $12/day or $20 weekend.
